What this site does
BoosterSeatGuide is an independent information site for parents and caregivers who need plain-English help with booster seat requirements, age guidance, state laws, and seat-belt fit. The goal is to make source-backed child passenger safety information easier to compare before a family checks the official source for their state.
How we research
We prioritize NHTSA, CDC, AAP, IIHS, federal regulations, state agencies, GHSA, and Safe Kids. State law pages include source links and review dates so claims can be refreshed. When a page uses a law index instead of a direct state statute, the page says so and encourages parents to verify the current official source.
Editorial approach
We separate legal minimums from safety best practice. A state may legally allow a child to use a safety belt before the belt fits well in a specific vehicle. In those cases, the site explains both the legal rule and the safer belt-fit standard.
